Local
Development Framework
Section 38 of the Planning and Compulsory Purchase Act 2004 requires that a
planning application should be determined in accordance with the development
plan for the area concerned, unless material considerations indicate otherwise.
It is therefore vitally important that landowners, developers and others with
an interest in the development of land engage in the preparation of development
plan documents. This is even more important as English authorities
prepare
their new
style local development documents in accordance with the 2004 Act.
Although the new local development framework system is still in its early stages,
Steven Abbott Associates has already engaged with the system in a number of locations
and will continue to do so as further, more substantive documents emerge. |
