East Quarry is the scene of much anti-social behaviour in the summer months and is also a highly dangerous site due to the steep quarry sides and the deep and cold water.
Unfortunately, the landowner has tried every security measure at his disposal to deter the intruders but they are so determined to gain entry to the site that none of these measures have been entirely successful.
Not only is this a serious issue for the landowner, the residents and business owners of Appley Bridge have also been victims of crime and disorder as a direct result of this annual invasion.
This unacceptable situation is also putting an added strain on Police resources.
