Steven formed Steven Abbott Associates in 1989. Before forming the Practice he worked in local government for 14 years in the Midlands, the South East and the North West.
Steven deals with all aspects of planning work, and is a key player in multi disciplinary teams on major or complex development schemes. From time to time these require instructing counsel and giving evidence at public inquiries. A lead role in such situations is common.
He acts for many high profile clients with wide ranging interests. Most of his activities are site specific but he is in demand to give general or one off advice on discrete subjects. He is retained by various companies to give specialist advice. Some are long established relationships but his portfolio continues to expand.
His clients currently include E H Booth and Company Limited (Booths) (food retail); Maple Grove Developments (commercial); Makro (wholesale cash and carry); Countryside (residential); Persimmon (residential); Blackthorn Homes; Ainscough Brothers/Ainscough Crane Hire (commercial) and Mainsprint (major land holdings).
Whilst his client base is predominantly in the North West, sites are anywhere in the country.
Like the client base, Steven’s web of professional contacts in planning and related disciplines is extensive. This includes many in local authorities.
